Catch a disconnected network before a post fails

Every morning, WebRun opens Metricool, checks each connected brand and social network for a dropped or expired connection, looks for posts that failed to publish, records the state in Airtable, and opens a Trello card the moment something needs reconnecting.

In short

How do I know when a social account disconnects from my scheduler?

WebRun checks your publishing connections every morning. It opens Metricool, tests each brand's social networks for a dropped or expired connection, notes any post that failed, records the state in Airtable, and opens a Trello card so you reconnect before a launch post goes missing.

  • Dropped connections are caught the morning they happen
  • Failed posts get a card instead of going unnoticed
  • Repeat offenders are visible in the daily Airtable history

Step by step

What does WebRun do on every run?

The exact actions WebRun takes, in order - in plain language, so you can adjust anything.

  1. WebRun signs in and gets to work

Opens app.metricool.com in a real browser with your saved login - no setup, no API keys.

  2. 1
Metricool - check every network connection
    metricool.com
WebRun in Metricool: check every network connection
WebRun opens Metricool to check every network connection.
    • Open Metricool and go through every connected brand
    • Check each social network on the brand for a disconnected, expired, or reauthorisation needed state
    • Look through the planner for posts that failed to publish since the last run
    • Count the scheduled posts queued behind any network that is currently down

Done when Every brand and network has a current connection state and any failed posts are listed.

  3. 2
    Airtable - record connection state
    airtable.com How to Automate Airtable
WebRun in Airtable: record connection state
WebRun opens Airtable to record connection state.
    • Write one row per brand and network with today's connection state
    • Keep the daily history so a network that drops repeatedly is easy to spot
    • Record any failed post with its scheduled time and the network it was meant for

Done when Airtable holds today's connection state for every brand and network.

  4. 3
Trello - raise a reconnect card
    trello.com How to Automate Trello
WebRun in Trello: raise a reconnect card
WebRun opens Trello to raise a reconnect card.
    • Open a Trello card for each network that needs reconnecting, naming the brand and the network
    • List the scheduled posts waiting behind it so the urgency is obvious
    • Add a card for any post that failed, with its original scheduled time
    • Leave reconnecting to a person. WebRun never re-enters credentials or reauthorises an account

Done when Every broken connection and failed post has a Trello card.

Good to know

Questions, answered

Will it reconnect the account for me?

No. Reauthorising a social network means handling credentials, so WebRun never does it. It opens a Trello card naming the brand and network, and a person reconnects it.

Does it catch posts that already failed?

Yes. It reads the Metricool planner each morning for posts that failed to publish and raises a card with the original scheduled time so you can repost or reschedule.

What if I manage several brands?

It walks every connected brand in turn and records a row per brand and network in Airtable, so a drop on one client account never hides behind another.

Put this on autopilot.

Turn it on in minutes - or have our team set it up for you.
