Never get caught by an expired signing certificate

Every Monday, WebRun signs into your Apple Developer account, opens Certificates, Identifiers and Profiles, reads the expiry date on every signing certificate, provisioning profile and push notification key, checks the membership renewal date, opens a Trello card for anything inside your warning window, and posts the team a WhatsApp summary.

In short

How do I track Apple signing certificate and profile expiry dates?

Every Monday WebRun signs into your Apple Developer account, reads the expiry date on every certificate, provisioning profile and push key, and checks when the membership renews. It opens a Trello card for anything expiring inside your window and sends the team a WhatsApp warning.

  • No release is blocked by a certificate that quietly expired
  • Every expiring credential has a card, an owner and a due date
  • The membership renewal is flagged weeks before the account lapses

Step by step

What does WebRun do on every run?

The exact actions WebRun takes, in order - in plain language, so you can adjust anything.

  1. WebRun signs in and gets to work

Opens developer.apple.com/account in a real browser with your saved login - no setup, no API keys.

  2. 1
Apple Developer - read every expiry date
    developer.apple.com
WebRun in Apple Developer: read every expiry date
WebRun opens Apple Developer to read every expiry date.
    • Sign into the Apple Developer account and open Certificates, Identifiers and Profiles
    • List every certificate with its type, associated app and expiry date
    • List every provisioning profile with its status and expiry date, noting any already marked invalid
    • Capture push notification key details and the account membership renewal date
    • Work out days remaining for each item

Done when Every certificate, profile and key has a days remaining figure.

  3. 2
Trello - open a renewal card
    trello.com How to Automate Trello
WebRun in Trello: open a renewal card
WebRun opens Trello to open a renewal card.
    • Open a card on your mobile release board for each item inside the warning window you set
    • Put the item name, type, app and expiry date in the card, with the due date set to the expiry
    • Attach the renewal steps so whoever picks it up does not have to work them out
    • Update the existing card rather than creating a second one for the same item
    • Archive cards for items that have since been renewed

Done when Every expiring credential has exactly one open, dated Trello card.

  4. 3
WhatsApp - warn the mobile team
    whatsapp.com How to Automate WhatsApp
WebRun in WhatsApp: warn the mobile team
WebRun opens WhatsApp to warn the mobile team.
    • Post a summary to your internal mobile team group: what expires, when, and which app it blocks
    • Put the item closest to expiry first and say how many days are left
    • Call out the membership renewal separately, because that one takes the whole account offline
    • Post to your own team group only. Never message Apple or an external contact

Done when The mobile team group has this week's expiry warning.

Questions, answered

Will it revoke or create certificates for me?

No. WebRun only reads the expiry dates. Revoking, creating or downloading a certificate, profile or key stays a human job, because a wrong revoke can break a live release.

Does it renew the developer membership or pay anything?

No. It reports the renewal date and how many days are left. Payment and renewal are always done by a person in your Apple account.

How far ahead does it warn?

As far ahead as you choose at setup, commonly 30 days. Every item inside that window gets a Trello card and appears in the WhatsApp summary until it is renewed.

Put this on autopilot.

Turn it on in minutes - or have our team set it up for you.
