Follow up on emails that were read and ignored

Every morning, WebRun opens Mailspring, goes through your sent messages, reads the read receipts and link tracking on each thread, finds the ones a contact opened days ago with no reply back, ranks them in Airtable by how long they have been silent, drafts a follow up, and holds time in Google Calendar.

In short

How do I follow up on emails that were opened but never answered?

Every morning, WebRun opens Mailspring, reads your sent messages with their read receipts and link tracking, and finds the threads a contact opened days ago and never answered. It ranks them in Airtable, drafts a follow up for you to send, and holds time in Google Calendar.

  • Warm threads get a follow up while the contact still remembers you
  • Every silent thread is ranked by how long it has been quiet
  • The draft is written before you sit down, so following up takes minutes

Step by step

What does WebRun do on every run?

The exact actions WebRun takes, in order - in plain language, so you can adjust anything.

  1. WebRun signs in and gets to work

Opens getmailspring.com in a real browser with your saved login - no setup, no API keys.

  2. 1
Mailspring - find read but unanswered threads
    getmailspring.com
WebRun in Mailspring: find read but unanswered threads
WebRun opens Mailspring to find read but unanswered threads.
    • Open Mailspring and go through your sent messages from the last few weeks
    • Read the read receipt and link tracking signals on each thread
    • Keep the threads that were opened at least once with no reply back since
    • Drop threads that got a reply, that you snoozed to a future date, or that you already followed up on
    • Draft a short follow-up message on each remaining thread and leave it unsent for you to review

Done when Every silent thread has a follow-up draft waiting and nothing has been sent.

  3. 2
Airtable - rank threads by days silent
    airtable.com How to Automate Airtable
WebRun in Airtable: rank threads by days silent
WebRun opens Airtable to rank threads by days silent.
    • Write one row per silent thread into your follow-up base in Airtable
    • Record the contact, the subject, the date sent, when it was last opened, and days since
    • Sort so the threads that were opened most recently and are oldest sit at the top
    • Mark rows as done when a reply finally lands so the base stays honest

Done when The Airtable base holds today's silent threads ranked by days waiting.

  4. 3
Google Calendar - hold time to send them
calendar.google.com How to Automate Google Calendar
WebRun in Google Calendar: hold time to send them
WebRun opens Google Calendar to hold time to send them.
    • Add a private follow-up block to your own Google Calendar sized to the number of drafts
    • Put the count of threads waiting in the event title so it is obvious at a glance
    • Place it in a free slot in the morning while the drafts are fresh
    • Leave the event with no attendees. WebRun never sends an invite or an email on its own

Done when A private follow-up block sits on your calendar for today's drafts.

Good to know

Questions, answered

Will it send the follow-up emails for me?

No. WebRun writes each follow up as an unsent draft on the original thread and leaves it for you. You read it, adjust the wording, and press send, so no contact ever hears from an unattended mailbox.

How does it know an email was read but not answered?

It uses the read receipt and link tracking signals Mailspring records on your sent messages, then checks the thread for any reply since that open. Both have to be true for the thread to make the list.

What if I already followed up outside this run?

The thread drops off. WebRun reads the live thread each morning, so any message you sent yourself, or any reply that arrived, removes it from the ranked list and the Airtable base.

Put this on autopilot.

Turn it on in minutes - or have our team set it up for you.
