In short

How do I automatically track and pull expiring products from vending machines?

WebRun checks Cantaloupe Seed Pro every morning for products nearing their expiry date across your entire fleet. It builds a route-grouped pull list with machine location, slot, product name, and expiry date, and posts it to Slack so drivers know exactly what to remove before they head out, keeping you compliant and minimizing waste.

  • Expired products are removed from machines before consumers encounter them
  • Drivers get a precise pull list without checking expiry dates machine by machine
  • Food safety compliance risk is reduced through daily automated monitoring

Questions, answered

How far in advance does it flag products before they expire?

You configure the alert window when setting up WebRun, for example 3 days before the best-by date. Products already expired are flagged as urgent and sorted to the top of the pull list.

Does it track expiry dates or does Cantaloupe store them?

It reads the expiry data stored in Cantaloupe Seed Pro for each product. Your team needs to enter expiry dates when loading product information into Cantaloupe for this workflow to function.

Does it notify machine locations or customers about expiring products?

No. The pull list is an internal Slack message for your drivers only. No messages go to location contacts or consumers.

Put this on autopilot.

Turn it on in minutes - or have our team set it up for you.
