Give life enrichment a weekly resident birthday list automatically

Every Monday morning, WebRun opens ALIS by Medtelligent, pulls the date of birth for every active resident, identifies those with a birthday in the coming seven days, formats a celebration list with resident name, birthday, room number, and any dietary or participation notes, appends it to the Life Enrichment Sheets calendar, and posts the weekly list to the life-enrichment Slack channel.

In short

How do I automatically generate a weekly resident birthday list for life enrichment in senior living?

WebRun opens ALIS by Medtelligent every Monday, identifies residents with a birthday in the coming seven days, and appends a celebration-ready list to the Life Enrichment Calendar in Google Sheets. It then posts the weekly list to the life-enrichment Slack channel with milestone birthdays highlighted, so no resident's birthday is missed and the team has time to plan.

  • The life-enrichment team has every birthday for the coming week in Slack before Monday planning starts
  • Milestone birthdays (80, 85, 90, 100) are automatically highlighted for extra recognition
  • Residents with a missing date of birth are flagged so records stay complete

Questions, answered

What happens if two residents share the same birthday this week?

Both appear in the list. WebRun does not de-duplicate birthdays. The life-enrichment team sees every resident celebrating that week so they can plan a joint celebration or individual recognition as they prefer.

Does it contact the resident or family about the birthday?

No. This is an internal planning digest for the life-enrichment team only. It does not send any message to residents or families. All family outreach remains the responsibility of staff.

How does it handle residents who have not provided a date of birth?

Residents without a date of birth in ALIS are not included in the birthday list. The Slack post notes if any active residents are missing a date of birth so the admissions team can update the record.
