How do I automatically track staff certification expiries at my scrap yard?
Every Monday WebRun reads your staff certification Sheet, finds credentials expiring within 60 days, confirms each employee is still active in ScrapRight, and posts a tiered expiry alert to Slack. Urgent items expiring within 14 days are listed first so your operations manager can arrange renewals before any credential lapses.
- No staff member operates with a lapsed certification because expiries surface 60 days in advance
- Urgent renewals (within 14 days) are flagged at the top of the weekly Slack alert
- Ex-employees are excluded automatically by cross-checking the ScrapRight active roster
Built for scrap yard operations managers · yard supervisors · metal recycler HR teams · compliance officers

1
Google Sheets - read certification expiry dates

- Filter to certifications expiring within the next 60 days and flag those expiring within 14 days as urgent

-
2
ScrapRight - confirm active staff roster
WebRun opens ScrapRight to confirm active staff roster. - Open ScrapRight and confirm which employees on the expiry list are currently active
- Skip certifications for employees who have left the yard
- Note each active employee's role so the alert can name who is affected
Done when The expiry list is filtered to active staff only, with roles confirmed.
-
3
Slack - post expiry alert by urgency
WebRun opens Slack to post expiry alert by urgency. - Post the certification expiry alert to #operations in Slack
- List urgent items first (expiring within 14 days) with the employee name, certification type, and days remaining

How is each run configured?
Secure by default
Connect once, stays signed in
WebRun signs in once and keeps each session in a persistent environment, so every run picks up right where it left off.
Every action is checked against this policy before it runs.
Questions, answered
Does it book renewal training automatically?
No. WebRun flags the expiry and posts it to Slack for the operations manager to act on. Scheduling the renewal is a human decision.
What certification types can it track?
Any certification you log in the Google Sheet: forklift licences, hazmat handling, first aid, DOT compliance, or any custom credential your yard requires.
What happens if the Sheet has an employee who already left?
It cross-checks the active employee roster in ScrapRight and skips anyone who is no longer listed as active, so the alert only covers current staff.
