In short

How can a pharmacy automatically identify low-stock drugs and prepare a purchase order for reorder?

WebRun checks Liberty Software every morning for medications that have dropped below reorder point, drafts a purchase order with suggested quantities for each item, logs it to Google Sheets, and posts it in Slack for pharmacist review before any order is ever placed with a wholesaler.

  • Stockouts avoided because reorder alerts fire before inventory hits zero
  • Pharmacists start the day with a ready-to-approve PO draft, not a manual inventory check
  • Controlled substance reorders are flagged separately for compliant handling

Questions, answered

Will it place a drug order with the wholesaler automatically?

No. WebRun drafts the purchase order and posts it to Slack for pharmacist review. No order is submitted to any wholesaler without explicit pharmacist approval. This applies to all medications, including controlled substances.

How does it calculate suggested reorder quantities?

It uses the reorder-point and preferred order quantity configured in Liberty Software for each medication. You can adjust those values in your pharmacy system at any time without changing the workflow.

What happens with controlled substances?

Controlled substances appear in the draft PO with a special flag so the pharmacist can give them extra attention before submission. WebRun never places any order for controlled substances autonomously.
