Questions, answered
How does it decide when a department is overspending?
WebRun calculates the pro-rated budget based on how many days have elapsed in the month and compares it to actual spend. Any department where actuals exceed the expected run-rate by more than 10 percent triggers an alert. You can adjust this threshold before the first run.
Will it alert department heads directly?
No. WebRun posts only to your internal finance Slack channel. It never messages department heads or external stakeholders directly. Your finance team decides who to loop in after reviewing the alert.
What happens at month-end when all spend is in?
The check still runs and flags any department that has exceeded its full monthly budget. At month-end the alert includes the final overspend amount so your team has a clean record for the close.
