In short

How do I automatically flag unusual Ramp corporate card spend?

WebRun reviews every Ramp transaction each morning against your configured spend thresholds, flags items that spike beyond normal amounts by category or introduce an unfamiliar merchant, and posts an anomaly alert list to Slack. Finance teams investigate the same day, well before unusual spend can compound.

  • Unusual spend caught within 24 hours before it compounds
  • Finance team gets a magnitude-ranked anomaly list every morning
  • New merchants flagged automatically without manual monitoring

Step by step

What does WebRun do on every run?

The exact actions WebRun takes, in order - in plain language, so you can adjust anything.

  1. WebRun signs in and gets to work

Opens app.ramp.com/transactions in a real browser with your saved login - no setup, no API keys.

  2. 1

    • Open Ramp and pull transactions from the past 24 hours with merchant, category, employee, and amount
    • Compare each transaction amount against your configured normal-range thresholds per category
    • Flag transactions that exceed the threshold by a set multiplier (e.g., 3x the typical amount for that category)
    • Also flag any merchant not seen in the past 90 days for that employee

Done when All anomalous transactions are identified with their anomaly reason and magnitude.

Questions, answered

Will it block the card or reverse any transaction automatically?

No. WebRun only flags and reports anomalies. All card controls are left for your finance team to action directly in Ramp, so no card is blocked without a human decision.

How do you define an anomaly?

You set thresholds during setup: a multiplier above the typical amount for each spend category, plus an option to flag any new merchant not used in the last 90 days for that employee.

What if the same anomaly keeps appearing because an employee always spends that way?

You can add an allowlist exception for specific employee-merchant or employee-category pairs during setup. Approved patterns are skipped on future runs.

Put this on autopilot.
