Clear the receipts stuck in Dext before month end

Every Monday, WebRun signs in to Dext, reads the cost and sales inboxes, lists every item that has not been published to your ledger along with anything missing a supplier, a category, or a readable total, ranks them by how long they have been stuck and by value, and sends the blocked list to WhatsApp with a copy to Telegram for the bookkeeper.

In short

How do I find receipts stuck unpublished in Dext?

WebRun opens Dext every Monday and lists every item still unpublished to your ledger, plus anything missing a supplier, category, or readable total. It ranks them by age and value and sends the blocked list to WhatsApp and Telegram, so the backlog is cleared long before month end.

  • Month end starts with a much shorter backlog
  • The value stuck outside the ledger is visible every week
  • Nothing is published to the books without a human

Step by step

What does WebRun do on every run?

The exact actions WebRun takes, in order - in plain language, so you can adjust anything.

  1. WebRun signs in and gets to work

Opens app.dext.com in a real browser with your saved login - no setup, no API keys.

  2. 1
    Dext - find unpublished items
    dext.com
WebRun in Dext: find unpublished items
WebRun opens Dext to find unpublished items.
    • Sign in to Dext and open the cost and sales inboxes
    • List every item not yet published to the ledger, with its supplier, date, total, and how many days it has been sitting
    • Separately flag items missing a supplier, a category, or a total that failed to read cleanly

Done when Every unpublished or incomplete item is listed with its age and value.

  3. 2
WhatsApp - send the blocked list
    whatsapp.com How to Automate WhatsApp
WebRun in WhatsApp: send the blocked list
WebRun opens WhatsApp to send the blocked list.
    • Send your internal finance chat a ranked list, oldest and highest value first
    • Split it into two parts: items ready to publish, and items blocked because information is missing
    • Add the total value sitting unpublished so the size of the backlog is obvious

Done when The finance chat has this week's blocked list with totals.

  4. 3
    Telegram - copy the bookkeeper
    telegram.org How to Automate Telegram
WebRun in Telegram: copy the bookkeeper
WebRun opens Telegram to copy the bookkeeper.
    • Send the same list to the bookkeeper's Telegram chat
    • Lead with anything older than your threshold, since those are the ones that will hurt at month end
    • Publishing to the ledger stays manual: WebRun never publishes, edits, or deletes a Dext item

Done when The bookkeeper has the same list and knows what is oldest.

Questions, answered

Will it publish items to my accounting ledger?

No. Publishing pushes a transaction into your books, so it stays with a person. WebRun reads Dext, reports what is stuck, and every publish is done by you or your bookkeeper.

Does it edit or delete anything in Dext?

No. The Dext step is read only. Suppliers, categories, and totals are reported as missing but never filled in or changed by the run, so nothing is guessed into your books.

Will it chase the person who submitted the receipt?

No. The only messages are internal, to your own WhatsApp and Telegram chats. WebRun never contacts an employee, a supplier, or a customer about a receipt.

Put this on autopilot.

Turn it on in minutes - or have our team set it up for you.
