How to Automate Modio Health
Modio Health automates provider credentialing through OneView: Storage, Reporting, real-time Compliance alerts, CAQH Monitoring and Prefilled Forms, with a services team handling verification and payor enrollment. Confirming a credential against the board, portal or registry that issued it still needs a browser. WebRun works those sites on a schedule.
A credential is permission to work, and it expires
Modio Health manages the credentials that let a clinician practise. Its platform, OneView, holds the licences, DEA registrations, certifications, malpractice cover, CME and payor enrolments for every provider in an organisation, and a credentialing services team files the applications behind them.
A credential file is not paperwork about the job. It is the job. A state licence that lapses on Friday means a physician who cannot legally see patients on Monday. A payor enrolment that falls out of date means visits delivered and then not paid for. A missed reappointment at a hospital means privileges quietly ending, and a schedule rebuilt around the gap.
So the file has to be right, and right on a particular date, for every provider, at every facility, with every payer. A group of forty clinicians is carrying several hundred documents that expire on their own timetables, issued by dozens of bodies that share nothing with each other.
Credentialing runs on somebody else's clock
None of the dates in a credentialing file were set by the organisation that has to meet them.
The state board decides when a licence renews and what it needs. The DEA decides when a registration expires. Each payer sets its own revalidation cycle, forms and pace. CAQH wants re-attestation on its own rhythm. A hospital medical staff office wants a reappointment packet by a date it chose.
So a credentialing coordinator spends the week inside other organisations' websites. Checking a state board's lookup to confirm a renewal went through. Refreshing a payer's provider portal to see whether an enrolment is still pending. Re-running an exclusion check. Chasing a provider for a certificate that was emailed to them and never forwarded on.
It is a lot of small tasks with hard edges. Getting one wrong is not an inconvenience. It is a clinician who should not be in a clinic, or a month of claims that bounce.
OneView tracks the file, the boards track the licence
Modio covers a great deal of this, thoroughly.
OneView keeps every credential in one place, with Storage and Reporting over the top and Compliance alerts firing in real time as expirables approach. CAQH Monitoring watches the profile and its attestation. Prefilled Forms take what the platform already holds and drop it into applications, which removes most of the retyping that makes credentialing miserable. Workflow Tracking follows an application through its stages, with CME tracked alongside. On the services side, Modio's team will run primary source verification, file state licensure applications, handle DEA registrations and renewals, work payor enrollment and revalidations, and carry out expirables, OIG and SAM monitoring.
For an organisation that buys the services, that covers most of the ground. Plenty buy some and keep the rest in house, and either way somebody is still opening those sites.
A credentialing record is only true if the body that issued it agrees. Whether the board processed the renewal, whether the payer's portal still shows the enrolment as active, whether a directory listing has drifted to an old address, whether anyone has appeared on an exclusion list since the last sweep: each answer lives on somebody else's site, is only true on the day you look, and changes without announcement.
The whole roster can be re-checked every week
A file of dates somebody typed becomes a file of dates somebody confirmed.
Every provider's licence looked up on the issuing state board each week, so a renewal that did not go through surfaces in September rather than on the morning it is missing. DEA registrations checked the same way. Exclusion lists re-run across the whole roster on a schedule rather than on memory.
Payor enrolment status pulled from each plan's provider portal, so an application that has sat untouched for six weeks is chased rather than assumed. Directory listings compared against what the organisation publishes: wrong address, wrong phone number, a provider still listed at a site they left. Hospital medical staff portals watched for reappointment packets and their deadlines.
Nothing in that list decides anything. Credentialing is a gate, and the gate is human. Reading a board's website and reporting what it says is clerical work that runs unattended. Changing a credentialing record, telling a provider they are out of compliance, or submitting anything to a payer waits for the person whose job that is.
Re-checking a licence is not credentialing judgement
Reading a status off a state board's site takes ninety seconds, and it has to happen for every provider, every renewal cycle, indefinitely. That is the part worth handing over.
WebRun is an AI agent that drives a real Chrome browser, signed in as your team signs in. It works state board lookups, payer provider portals, exclusion databases and hospital medical staff systems, reads what is there, and brings back a list with the discrepancies marked.
It runs on your schedule in your own private environment. Sessions are not shared between workflows, a workflow can be locked to an explicit list of domains, and any run can be watched and stopped.
The workflows below are already built, and each one names the sites it opens.
Questions people ask
Will it change a provider's credentialing record?
No. It reads the source and reports what it found, including where the record disagrees. Updating a credentialing file decides who is allowed to practise, so it waits for the person accountable for it.
Can it submit applications to payers or boards?
Not on its own. It can gather everything an application needs and prepare it, but sending anything to a payer or a licensing board is left for a credentialing specialist to review and submit.
How does it handle providers working across several facilities?
It checks each source that matters to that provider: every state where they hold a licence, every payer they bill, every facility granting privileges. The site list is set per workflow, and one provider can appear in several.
